Instructor Provisions
1. Purpose of Provisions. The purpose of these provisions is to promote the study and instruction of Wing Chun Gung Fu. As such, the accompanying goal of these provisions is to promote the peaceful and harmonious interaction of those instructors wishing to study and teach the Fong style of Wing Chun with fellow Fong's Wing Chun brothers and sisters as well as practitioners of Wing Chun as a whole and other martial arts. Since politics and dissension are detrimental to one's personal development, and to the promotion of Wing Chun Gung Fu, Sifu Fong and Fong's Wing Chun Gung Fu Federation openly condemn any action or inaction that would cause factions within the system or the martial arts community.
2. Definitions.
2.1 The Federation. Fong's Wing Chun Gung Fu Federation
2.2 Recognized Instructor. A Recognized Instructor is an Instructor who teaches a martial art (does not have to be Wing Chun) and has demonstrated an interest in learning Wing Chun. Sifu Fong makes no representation and takes no responsibility regarding the Instructor's knowledge and skill.
2.3 Fong's Wing Chun Instructor. A Fong's Wing Chun Instructor is a Wing Chun Instructor who has attended all levels of Sifu Fong's Instructor Training Classes (i.e. received attendance certificates in Sib Lim Tau, Chum Kiu, and Bue Gee). Being a Fong's Wing Chun Instructor denotes that the Instructor has demonstrated, through an exam given at the end of the Bue Gee instructor's course, a specific level of understanding and skill development in the Fong's Wing Chun System. Fong's Wing Chun Instructor's must use the guidelines set up within Fong's Wing Chun Gung Fu Federation.
2.4 Disciple. A Disciple is a Fong's Wing Chun Instructor who has demonstrated, to the Sifu’s satisfaction, superior physical, mental and spiritual skills.
3. Fong's Wing Chun Instructor Specific Provisions.
3.1. To maintain this classification, a Fong's Wing Chun Instructor must visit Sifu Fong and receive a Certificate of Attendance at least once every 2 years (preferably at the Instructor Camp or Reunion Seminar).
3.2. Use of Trademarked Logo. All Fong's Wing Chun Instructors are highly encouraged to develop and use their own individual logos.
3.3. Representation. A Fong's Wing Chun Instructor does not have license to represent either Sifu Fong or the Fong's Wing Chun Gung Fu Federation in any capacity, other than being an instructor by same.
4. Revocation. The Federation reserves the right to revoke Recognized or Fong's Wing Chun Instructor status at anytime if, in its sole discretion, the Instructor is failing to represent Fong's Wing Chun Gung Fu in a manner consistent with its precepts that are contained within the Instructor materials provided or in these provisions.
5. Limitations. Sifu Fong does not run a chain of schools or a franchise. Recognized and Fong's Wing Chun Instructors administer their schools under their sole desecration and without the direction of Sifu Fong or the Federation. The Sifu and the Federation are available as a knowledge and support resource for the instructor's training in Wing Chun Gung Fu, but nothing else. A Recognized or Fongs' Wing Chun Instructor is an individual who has demonstrated an interest in or a level of ability in the Fong's Wing Chun system. However, neither Recognition nor being a Fong's Wing Chun Instructor entitles an instructor to make policies or representations on behalf of Sifu Fong or the Federation. |
